What is a Prosthodontist?

Prosthodontists are advanced dentists – prosthodontist is the quarterback of your clinical team. They design the cases and make sure you are done to the best degree, will send to sub-specialists to make sure we get the right outcome – trained specifically for crowns, bridges and implants. Prosthodontists are not just general dentists. Following four years of dental school, prosthodontists complete three or more years of residency training in an American Dental Association (ADA) accredited graduate program.

This program ensures the mastery of the science and advanced techniques necessary to create long-lasting, functional, and esthetically pleasing restorations. While it’s common to see the phrase “cosmetic dentist,” cosmetic dentistry is not an actual dental specialty; these dentists have not completed a residency program.

NormaAdministrative Team

Norma joined our office with over 20 years of experience in dentistry. She’s a registered dental assistant with proven clinical skills. But she’s a born administrator. Norma’s a master at managing patient care, treatment, and coordinating schedules. Patients often tell us how well organized our office is. Norma’s the reason why.

ColleenHygienist

Colleen is a Pittsburgh native. In 1987, she earned a Dental Hygiene degree from Allegany College in Maryland. She began her career in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area shortly after graduation. Colleen relocated to Dallas in 2003 to join our practice. She’s a licensed Dental Hygienist with more than 20 years of experience. The quality of that experience shows in everything she does.

MiriamHygienist

Miriam graduated with honors from the New York University College of Dentistry. Prior to coming to Dallas, she practiced as a hygienist in New York City, specializing in dental implants, prosthodontics, and periodontics. Having earned a dental degree in her native Peru prior to moving to the US, she has a broad knowledge of all aspects of dentistry. She joined our practice in 2010.

GeorgetteDental Assistant

Georgette, a Dallas native, began working as a dental assistant in 1979 during her senior year of high school. Ten years later, she attended the Dental Laboratory Technology School at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and became a Board-Certified Dental Laboratory Crown and Bridge Technician. After graduation, she moved back to Dallas to continue working as a dental assistant in a general dentistry practice. She joined us in 1996.

TeriDental Assistant

Teri graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1986. She began her career in dentistry during her senior year. She later attended the Midwest Implant Institute in Columbus, Ohio, where she trained in technical dental implant procedures. Teri joined us in 2002 following several years focusing on cosmetic dentistry at a general practice. Her skills, experience, and commitment to our patients’ care make her an essential member of our team.

KevinOraNova

Kevin has worked with Dr. Seal as manager of the OraNova laboratory since 1989. He graduated from the Naval Health Sciences of Dental Technology School in 1986 and worked for the next four years as a Navy Dental Laboratory Technician. In addition to his dental training, Kevin has earned an Associate Degree at Penn Valley College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Letourneau University. Kevin is a National Board-Certified Dental Technician.
